Default Trout Ponds

The past week of cool weather seems to have curbed the growth of green algea and stopped the blue-green variety. The high pressure and the full moon phase combined to give me a great evening on my favorite trout pond. The Green Damsel nymph is still working its magic.

that green blue stuff is sure smelly and I don't imagine it will take long to kill off a pond if it blooms fast

I went out today but a low pressure system was over us and the fish were down. I managed to C & R a couple but it was very slow. The warm weather is starting the algea up again so I think I will have to write the ponds off until mid-Sept. Hopefully there won't be a fish kill in the meantime.

Star Lake has been absolutely dead lately - hope the bows in there are alright.
