Default Sheep Hunters- Question on Spotting Scope

Hi Guys- Im looking to by a new spotter. What are you guys most comfortable with on your sheep hunts. Straight or Angled, What size of eye piece is the most applicable? Is a 65/60mm vs 80mm more practical? Or is the extra weight worth it. Also I want to consider other uses besides the mountains. Long range shooting, Ranges, etc...your advice is appreciated. Cheers.

I'll be using my Swaro 20-60x65 STM (straight) spotter. There are guys & gals on the board with a ton more experience sheep hunting than me than can chime in with their experiences.

I got the same as Duk Dog and love it .I use it alot in the mountains so thats why i went with smaller one . but if you don't mind the extra wieght the 80 would gather more light.

You want at least a 60mm for better light the higher the power doesent allways mean better, in the summer the heat waves make it very hard to focus I found much more than 45-50 power is the way to go.

I've had 5 in the 15x45 x60 range but just stepped up to the 20x60x85 Zeiss. There is no comparison but it does weigh .8 of a pound more than the smaller model.
