Default McLean Creek Road to Elbow Falls

Hi,
Does anyone know about the road in McLean Creek that leads to the south side of Elbow Falls? I think the road is maintained by Husky to access their nearby site. But is it driveable for a regular vehicle or is the road gated and locked? The PLUZ map suggests that it is a shared use road that can be used by on-highway vehicles?
Thanks!

Smile That'll buff out.

That road is gated and locked at the staging area. Officially, access is restricted to employees and contractors. Unofficially, if you can get your vehicle past the offroad trail obstacles (gatekeepers), you may be OK.
They tended to ignore recreational vehicle use on the road as long as you stayed out of their way. Although that may have changed in recent years? In general, they have been citing concerns about corporate liability when recreational users are allowed access to private lease roads.
Your run-of-the-mill 4x4 will likely take some damage trying to reach that road.

Here is the link to the AEP 2020 McLean Creek PLUZ map with the trail designations. The road is still shown as multi-use, and there is a marked 4x4 trail that intersects the road at #314.

was there yesterday the gate is locked and they have big boulders scattered around so only quads, side by sides and dirt bikes can get through.
They have also blocked off and dug up many of the trails we used to use.
All for protection of sensitive areas.
But if they never did that guys would be riding through all the wet areas just because
