Lowrance updates

Lowrance has new updates for HDS gen2 and HDS Touch. 3.0 for those that are interested.

Installed mine yesterday on both units. Pretty painless.

Might be a dumb question, but how do you install updates... Do I need to buy an update program?

You will need an sd card. Go to the Lowrance website. Under the support tab you will find the updates and detailed instructions. There is no cost for the downloads.

Just as a heads up, there seems to be some software problems with the 3.0 update that are causing the Gen 2 units to reboot and have problems.

There's not much in 3.0 for the average user anyway, and the 2.5 update is trouble free, so my advice would be to stick with the 2.5 version until Lowrance get things fixed.
