Default Boat launch gone wrong Port Moody

The video is unreal, gawd that has to hurt the ego and to have it go up in flames after the rescue. (Electric vehicle)

Hmmm its a well known fat lithium ion batteries react with water, especially salt water and yet people still think electric cars are the future. Never mind the fact the fumes from burning batteries are far more toxic than burning gasoline.

Coming soon to car washes everywhere:

"Due to liability issues, no electric vehicles are allowed in these wash bays"

It just goes from bad to worse for this guy. First, for some reason still unknown his vehicle rolls back into the water. Then he almost gets run over by said vehicle rolling back into the water. Then once you think all the excitement for the day is over, the thing turns into a fireball. Granted, it was probably already a write off before it started on fire anyway!

So do these electric car companies post environmental bonds like o&g?

I’m wondering who pays for battery acid leaching into the “pristine waterways”?

There is no battery acid in lithium-ion batteries. Some electrolytes may be organic based however, leading to potential fire hazards.

Well I guess that might explain why we’re not seeing fully electric boats yet, I was just thinking of the concept last week contemplating how different it would be with a propulsion system that quiet in a boat, especially when towing skiers / wakeboarders.

I wonder what type of vehicle he’ll be buying next?

There's a ton of electric tour boats on the canal systems in Ontario. I was on one with a group of 8 about 10 years ago. Even the famous 'Maid of the Mist' tourist boats at Niagara Falls are going all electric.

Hopefully he just gets a bus pass and gives up on the dream of boating.......
