Default Wmu 360

Anybody have any luck for moose in this zone? Is there much crown land or is it mostly private?

Jake

I have seen moose along highway 2 and I'm in the process of getting more info for WMU 360 as well as surrounding areas. I just posted a thread asking about the area and I'm just waiting for my buddy (non-hunting, unfortunately) who lives in Faust to get back to me. I will pass along any info that I get and keep an eye on my post as others may respond to mine as well as yours. Good luck!

Jake, Did you get a 360 bull moose draw ? Sept or Nov ?
Our party hunts in 360, but the lower SW portion, near Little Smoky.
This will be just the 2nd year hunting here, so we can't comment too much.
Good stats as far as availible under subscribed calf moose and MD doe tags.
Our moose tags did not come through this year, needed to be prior 2 for Sept, but some zeros do get Nov tags.

I rotate the batteries and memory cards on the 8 tral cams I have out there,
I've got some nice velvet andtlered bull moose back a month or 2 ago.
I'll know more on these bulls if any good pictures are waiting for me when I get back up there on Sept 13th.

Good luck to ya,

TBark

I was just looking at the undersubscribed tags for a calf, I did not get a moose draw this year. I was hoping to make a trip up north this year to do some hunting and thought this might be a good place to look. I just need to know if there are public places to hunt?

Lots of public land.
I'd suggest the south side of the zone.
Most all cows that I have on camera have calves too.

Default Wmu 360

I have been in this area for 12 years and have hunted the roads and on foot along the Little Smoky River with mixed success for moose. Looking at my MD map covering most of the west side of the WMU 360 I see about ½ private land with the most crown land to the SW (or east of the hamlet of Little Smoky) and to the east and a little south of the town of Valleyview. As for calf moose I have seen few and have known a few hunters with no success. On a personal note, this year I plan to buy a quad and take it into wmu 354 where there is more crown land and better hunting.

Wonder why that zone has the most undersubscribed tags in the province ??
Maybe somebody can comment.
Likely hunter surveys telling us few hunters there ? Or ariel surveys ?

Default Sorry, not much info

Thought I'd get back to you about WMU 360, unfortunately I didn't get a lot of info from anyone I knew or called. Talked to a girl today who grew up in Kinuso and it's the same procedure of asking the land owner for permission. I guess I'll find out better when I'm up there.
