I was on the ice less than an hour ago on the north end. Ice is about 18 inches. But its up to u if you wanna drive on, I and one other guy drove on, and two othere drove quads/walked. Good luck on the Gator hunt, a friend caught a 7 pounder(2 weeks ago), the rest have all been hammer handles and weve been out 10+ times . The fish were all over today, couple on bottom, some 2 or 3 feet up from the bottom. And we had some good luck in the 15 Fow range.
Bring lots of about 4 inch smelts theyve been hitting those way more than minnows, and been hitting the rods alot more that we had in the holders(they werent jigged)
Hope this helps in the hunt
