Default Boxing day sale at the fishing hole??

Is everything on sale in the store? I was looking at buying a tent, heater and flasher. I'm not sure if the flasher would be on sale though. I'll probably buy the heater some where else too.

wow, this one is a little early. but i believe almost everything is on sale. It is their 2nd biggest sale of the year. I think i asked a buddy who works there about this and he said the electronics should be like 10-20 percent at least

It's never to early to talk about great sales.

Really?!! Usually 10% is about max on electronics; I have been told many times by sales people at all the fishing stores that they have very little markup on their electronics inventory (yeah) to start with which is why they don't drop the price much on sales. If there are discounts of 20% or more on fish finders @ TFN Boxing Day sale you can count me in!

I just phoned and talk to Jerry on the south side. He said he has no clue what the deals will be as of yet.

When I worked at the Hole in Stoon , I was told there is very little margin on electronics , thats why you rarely see big sales. The other thought is Lowrance closely regulates their retail prices , forbidding lower pricing. Gas prices aren't fixed either !

its the biggest single day TFH has through out the year. word is the discounts on electronics will be decent, they were 20% off during the wall to wall sale. we can only hope for boxing day.

I talked to the lowrance rep at last years boat show. Big Mike said that lowrance gives a very small mark down margin for dealers on sales. The only way an electronic will be marked down is if the company gives the go ahead which is almost never according to Mike.

This is the Golden rule of retail....

Big ticket items = marginal mark up. max 30%

That package of leaders = Huge markup 400%

Another example is home depot (former employee)
Drywall markup is usually 0 or sometimes even negative....
Drywall screws is 600%

Unless someone knows a guy in charge at the fishin hole VERY well, they are't going to tell you there is a sale. Why would they? So they can make less money? Don't understand why people even ask.

Does Wholesale Sports ever do boxing day sales? I think I checked it out a couple of years ago and they didn't.

They have a sale every year. U dont understand why people ask? I guess u don't like saving money then....If i'm spending 800 bucks on boxing day i wouldn't mind saving a few bucks.

I love saving money. I'm saying....that why would Fishin hole tell anyone they are having a sale, or what is on sale and by how much. That isn't good business if you want something and you'll buy it anyway for regular price. I wouldn't be telling anyone, that is for sure.

So you don't go and buy it some place other then there even a little mark up is better then nothing and know telling what else you will buy then or later will hope to get you as steady customer.

That is very true! Same with electronic stores like Memory Express: TVs = 10% markup. USB and HDMI cables = 500% markup

Great sentence! The people at the fishing hole already know me and they know I shop there so no problem there. I'm just saying....you're not going to get any for sure answers because the people on here don't know sqwat.
