Default Wolves and Yellowstone

Interesting piece on how the re-introduction of wolves to yellowstone changed the geography of it.

It's an interesting video which shows the impact large predators can have on the ecology of a system through trophic cascades.

Most of those deer in the video look an awful lot like elk IMO.

I think elk are deer. Whitetail, muledeer, elk etc etc...all members of the deer family. http://www.hww.ca/en/species/mammals...rican-elk.html

Then again, the brits don't even know the proper side of the car to put a steering wheel.

Funny how the video never mentions the other natural Apex predator that has been excluded from Yellowstone, Humans.

This ecological damage is a large part of why we have hunting seasons.

Guy seems to be reading a lot into a few years . Doesn't even recognize an elk when he sees one.

It sounds like a call for keeping elk.deer, moose numbers in check for national parks where they are artificially high, I call a tag for banff Interested to hear what they say in 20 years where all that new growth that is encouraging life of many things RIGHT NOW turns to old growth and all of a sudden the amount of feed for all the new animals disappears...

the above is bound to happen if the wolves don't keep up and hunting is not allowed.
