Nice whites as always , hey why does everyone use wireworms for whites aside from the fact that they work , don't flies imitate what they feed on a lot better ie. Bloodworms , nymphs, chironomids. I guess isn't doesn't really matter if the wire worms work that good .... Sure are a cinch tie and sink fast.

The spawn just finished ???? I appreciate your pics and info you give, but I'm sceptical on your whitefish spawn time. I would have thought they would be done some time in late October !

I caught two on Mcgregor New years eve that milked the hole so I released them, all the ones I kept were dry when I cleaned them tho....today I couldn't find any near the spawn beds so I think they might be done here in the south, going to go shallow next week and see if I can relocate some feeding .

once the lake cools down again in Oct/Nov the lake Whitefish will come in to the shallow's again

if your not seeing Lake Whitefish in your hole in 1hr move and try to find where in the lake they are

some bays are loaded .. sandy bottoms coming too a weed line

I will go into 2 fow to 8 fow

Speckle... you regularly make me crave willow smoked whitefish.

On lakes like pigeon lake and the other parkland whitefish lakes in December fish to 2 to 12 feet deep. In January and February try deeper too. I have fished 25 feet of water and produced whites too.

Did you find any tape worms?

That is the only place in Alberta with a tape worm species that can infect people.
