I seen on the news some family got CO2 poisoning recently. They live in million $ or more house that looked fairly new. He had 3 CO2 detectors connected through his alarm company, yet none of them went off.
First CO2 detector I had I had to return cause the test button wouldn't work. As in the alarm wouldn't go off.
Now I'm fairly skeptical of these detectors and considered testing mine.
I keep a battery one in my tent but it's never gone off. I'm sure I've nearly been killed by CO2 numerous times in the past from propane heaters and thankfully I now get to take it seriously.
