Default Ice fishing tent cinch straps

There was some recent discussion on the ice fishing tent thread about tents being tough to get into their bags. Rather than hi jack that thread I thought I would post what I just did to alleviate the issue.

I have an Eskimo Quickfish 6i and had issues getting it back in the bag after use. The condensation would freeze and it just didn't fit easily. They give you a strap but it wouldn't reach until you bear hug the tent and put it, usually requiring an extra person.

So today I went to Fabricland here in Sherwood Park, bought 108" of red 1" webbing (they were out of black) and two strap buckles. Total cost was $5. I didn't buy the Velcro as we already had a bunch. Once I had the materials I sewed the buckle on one end and the Velcro on the other in order to make a cinch strap. It's long enough to feed the end through the buckle and cinch it down, then Velcro in place. Took about 20 min to make and cost $5 (slightly more if you need the Velcro I suppose). I made two straps for that price. Not the prettiest sewing, but it's sturdy which is all that matters to me.

Here's a picture of the two straps in place. Bag slips on with no issues now.

Hopefully that helps anyone with similar issues.

If your like me (and apparently my wife), and don't know how to sew you can always use boat cover tie down straps. They would work just as well.
