Default Lunar Moon Phases

Just wondering if anyone follows the moon phases and if so, how much of an impact does it have on your fishing? Is it pretty actuate?

I try to stay away from full moons. But try to keep a picture journal and just rename the picture how many fish caught that day.

Care to elaborate a little bit on this Bigspiker. Do you find it better or worse during the major or minor times? I've heard people say usually an hour before and an hour after the major and minor times. Do find this to be true? Anything else you would care to share about the moon phases affecting the fishing. Thanks BigBuck

After years of observing I have concluded that fish are more active during the day because of lack of light in the water at night during a new moon. Slower around a full moon during the day because they are more active at night, except Trout don't seem to be affected as much. It seems that Trout will actively feed in low light. If there is heavy snow cover disregard all of the above...lol

Barometer more so than moon. I don't bother paying attention to the moon at all. I've looked at times out of curiosity and found the barometer plays the biggest factor. I don't plan trips around barometer or moon though. If I have time to go, I will fish (and hunt) regardless...

I would have to agree. I haven't tracked this at length but it seems when the barometer is not on the rise that fishing is better. If you get a combo of new moon or full moon and lowering pressure, seems to be good all around.
