I have not seen anyone catch a perch there since the great walleye experiment started there.

To be truthful it was always a difficult lake to catch perch on.

3 years back I was with a guy who was throwing pike spinners (like musky gear) and caught a ~30cm perch. It's no longer in the lake 😂 But there obviously are more. Also huge whitefish in there as well.

Allot of the whites in Pinehurst are tullibe/Cisco and from speaking to some of the old timers that have caught them they are wormy. They used to net them along time ago to feed to the mink for those that had mink farms. The ones that I saw caught on spoons were indeed very large but all were sent back.

I've only caught two perch worth keeping there around 11 to 12 inches. There aren't that many perch there and most if any are small. Get eaten by all the pike and walleye before reaching a decent size. Even the Atlas of alberta says perch only forage size mostly. Much better lakes to fish for perch in my oppinion.
