I'll believe it when I see it.

In an attempt to not derail only. ...
I would love to see a grizzly hunt again. I'm curious to know how many are actually necessary to have in the ecosystem, if that were even possible to quantify

Why?

It's part of their original habitat.

Except Montana DID NOT open up a grizzly bear season. Wyoming has plans as does Idaho, but here in MT we do not at this time.

Not a mistake ..our govt is a mistake ..i hear this morning on the news that animal rights groups in the province are upset again because of the supposedly high number of bears accidentally killed.in 2016 ...how could that be possible with the low numbers we are said to have ...6 bears or whatever they said the population was a few years ago ..hmmmm

Under our previous Government leadership, there WAS a directive to lay the groundwork to re-opening the hunt. It WAS being worked on!

This effort seems to have been squashed by the NDP.

Voting matters....

They don't even know how to estimate how many bears are in the province. It's a straight up guess. Here is a link to the government of Alberta grizzly bear recovery program if anyone is interested. http://aep.alberta.ca/fish-wildlife/...yPlan-2008.pdf
