Default Cooey 600 bolt travel smoothness

I know that the Cooey 600 bolt is connected by a pin in an elliptical stamped metal piece to the mag tube. Although I have field-stripped and oiled the pertinent parts, I still find that the bolt must be moved in its up-back-forward-down cycle rather forcefully and smartly in order to extract the fired case and chamber a new one. If the bolt is limp-wristed, it seems to not expel the fired case completely nor slip the new one under the extractor lips on the bolt face.

Is this normal operation, or is some different lube procedure required? The rifle is in nice shape, is about 45 years old, and has fired probably only about 1000 rounds in total.

Many thanks!
