SCI slogan "First for Hunters" ?

It has bothered me that the organization SCI,which slogan is "First for Hunters", was so quick to suspend the memberships of all parties accused of any involvement with the lion the world knows as Cecil.

If in deed the slogan has merit, would it not be more appropriate to release press that supports the truth of how our heritage and passions actually support conservation of these species ? Instead the suspensions actually cast more suspicions as to the merit of this hunt and untruths that were circulated.

So, is this slogan a true representation of this organization ?

good for them they distanced themselves but an act of betrayal in my eyes. innocent until proven guilty and that is not in the court of public opinion.

I think the bigger problem is the lack of push back from SCI against the outrage mob. Get out in public, get your message in the media, talk about how hunting pushes and supports conservation in Africa. Don't just circle the wagons and wait for it to blow over.

As far as Palmer is concerned, I don't see it any differently than I see wildlife: don't put the needs of the individual ahead of the needs of the species.
