Winefred lake lodge
Went to the outdoor show this weekend and the good people at the Winefred lake lodge booth and they where kind enough to give me a hat from when "I fish Canada" tv show was there. I spent a lot of time there last summer and can't wait to go back this year.
It was extremely nice of them to give me a signed hat and it show what kind of customer service you received at the lodge.

Fishing
if you want to pay 600 a night for a little rustic cabin and 65 dollars a day to launch your boat its is a nice place to fish. they've priced themselves out of the market for most fishermen. Beautiful lake though.

If you want to fish Winefred and not pay the lodge's prices, check out Winefred Lake Contracting. He is located on the west side of the lake.

If you just get a cabin and bring your stuff I think it's more affordable. 500 bucks a guy basically for 3 nights and 4 days fishing. Or 1400 for a fly in. Fishing at Fred is great. Ive dont better here then the mikisew trips in. Nice bringing the comfy boat too.

ice fishing at Winefred is awesome, a big 5 of diamonds will catch you everything from 20lb pike to huge whitefish. for the money they are wanting now i tend to venture into sask where its a little more affordable.

I have been going to Winefred for 6 years now every spring and the prices seem to keep going up but the fishin has always be great so I keep going back! Real nice lake and nice people at the lodge, we usually stay out at the tent camps to save a few bucks but this year may long were staying at the lodge. Can't wait!!

The tent camp I found was pretty rough. But affordable if you want to pack all your gear in your boat. The flies will carry you away though !!!!

Is there no random camping anywhere near Winnifred? Cutlines or abandoned leases. Still would need to launch a boat and $65.00 for a launch fee is a rip off. Any access to launch a 14 foot aluminum?

One spot just off grist road. It can be bad if she's wet. If you google map it you will see the road going to the south east corner of the lake a couple miles down from the lodge.

We have stayed on Bannana Island in early June at that time we never had to pay to launch a boat. That island had a mega amount of mice, couldn't believe how meant there were.

That road is brutal! I swear the lodge owners go dig holes in it to limit access.

Ya I haven't heard anything good about the outfitters. The lodge is great I've brought everyone from my kids to my buds there and had a great time.

Paul has the best launch, and he's the closest one as well. He's a no nonsense kinda guy, comes off a little tough to deal with, but if you get past that he's good to deal with. He's cheaper than the lodge to launch at, and I'll use his place any time I go up there...

Paul and Jerry M. used to own Winefred Lake Lodge. They have since sold to the Mohlers, who also own Karen's Catering, Dipper Oilfield, the new Ramada in Conklin, the car wash, and the Petro Canada.
Paul Padlesky owns Winefred Lake Outfitters/Contracting.

Sometimes paul has his gates shut and you cant even get in there. But I wont worry about that cause I wont go there again. Hes a penny pincher to and charged us 480 bucks a night when we were there. So I dont think his prices are a whole lot better. Plus he charged us 35 to launch to on top of the cabin fees.

I had the opportunity to go up there this weekend but can't get away. I asked my Dad to give me a scouting report as he's going up with a cousin of mine for a few days. It sounds kind of pricey. I hope the weather is good and they get into some fish.

Where is Paul and Gerry now, they were OK to deal with. I wonder how Dot is doing she was a good cook, trying to remember the other lady that was there when Dot was there, at the time she was older. That's going back 20 years plus she worked with George yet.

The food at the lodge is fantastic! I eat out a lot and chef at the lodge is absolutely fantastic. It's been a great place to take clients for a day of fishing and a great meal. I've been nothing but impressed with the food there.
