I stopped by there on my way home from fishing up valley this afternoon.

There was certainly some action, lots of fish taking bugs just under the surface and some smaller rings around made me thing that there were some water boatmen hitting the pond. They dive in and make small splash then swim for 6 feet or so depositing eggs as they go. When the trout key on them that's sometimes all they look at. Your best bet when this is happening is probably a very small spinner cast out and retrieved shallow. Let it sink for a few seconds and then start reeling steady.

I didn't have anything but streamers with me so I was shut out too.

After a summer in that place, those fish need to be netted out and raised for brood stock, since they obviously have a smart gene.
