Coyote buyers??
So after deer season is over I like to get out and call/shoot coyotes to help out the deer population. My question is, is there anybody around the Edmonton or leduc area would be nicer. That buys whole coyotes?? When I shoot them they generally just go to waste, unless I get a really good one and didn't damage the hide too much then I just skin and dry them myself as a hobby.. so I wouldn't mind finding somebody that could use them(and maybe make a bit of money in the process ) anybody that has any input would be nice!
Or maybe this thread would get more attention in the Trappers Discussion?

To my knowledge, as long as your shooting them and not trapping them your good to go. No licensing required...

RSA 2000 WILDLIFE ACT Chapter W-10
(2) The Minister shall not give permission under subsection (1) in respect of a domestic cervid.
RSA 2000 cW-10 s61;2003 c26 s17;2003 c49 ss12,27
Trafficking in wildlife
62(1) A person shall not traffic in wildlife.
(2) A person shall not be in possession of wildlife for the purpose of trafficking in wildlife.
(3) Subsections (1) and (2) do not
(a) apply if and to the extent that the trafficking or the possession is specifically authorized by a permit or is authorized by or under the Livestock Industry Diversification Act,
(b) apply if the trafficking or possession is reasonably incidental to the operation of a fur farm in accordance with the Fur Farms Act or is in accordance with the Meat Inspection Act or the Meat Inspection Act (Canada), or
(c) prevent a person from acquiring wildlife from the Minister under section 9.
(4) Each single act described in section 1(1)(gg)(i) or (ii) done in relation to a wildlife animal constitutes a separate act of trafficking in wildlife.
From the wildlife act. Seems cut and dry,that's why I ask. Everyone seems to sell them though so I figure I am missing something.

Or maybe it is illegal without some sort of license and everyone in this thread who has admitted to selling coyotes or is looking for a buyer wants this thread to go deep.
I really am not trying to be the Internet cop, but I really want know the legality. Ishoot them off my deck and will give them to someone to sell if they want too but not if it is illegal. I have no interest in selling them myself so they just go to the birds.

Right from the regs
Sale of Wildlife back to top
In Alberta anyone may sell the following:
processed (tanned or otherwise permanently preserved, but not dried, salted or frozen) skins of fur-bearing animals;
black bear skins, provided they have been taken lawfully (black bear claws may only be sold if they remain attached to the whole skin);
the skins of most animals, including skunk and raccoon, for which a licence is not required;
skinned beaver carcasses including the tail; or
the claws, skulls and teeth of lawfully taken fur-bearing animals.
Don't need a licence to hunt coyotes or foxes, fill your boots
If it is a species such as marten where you need a trapping licence to harvest then you would be not be able to sell them.
Before I got my trapping licence the fur buyer I sold to just took my win card number for his records.

Thanks Phil, was that out of the hunting regs? Does that trump the wildlife act?
And yes, it's my deck and I gave myself permission....

Thanks Phil!
