I couldn't believe that anyone would be dumb enough to drive onto the ice this early in the season, considering how mild the weather has been.
Heck, I'd be nervous about walking out onto the ice on a lot of lakes.

I'm still weiry of walking on... Couldn't imagen driving a truck on this early, especially with the warm weather we have had..

I've never ice fished before. You wouldn't catch me driving on the lake at any time of year. Yes I know it can be perfectly safe. It just makes me nervous. LOL

You can minimise the risk significantly by not going too early, and sticking to established tracks. Also if you know anyone who is familiar with a particular spot, and you are unsure, ask them before heading out.

It really is a lot of fun... you should try it.
