Default Who else is ready for ice?

I for one cant wait untill we get some hard water. The sooner the better for me, with a few snow falls already, and with it gettin fairly cold at nite its just gettin me all worked up lol, and from how much fat i have noticed on deer and other animals im thinkin it might be an early ice season and a cold one at that.

Yes...to some degree. It could wait awhile longer. I certainly like the open water season better. Wayyyyyyyy more choices for fishing and just getting out there is a treat. Still, I love watching "Fish TV" while ice fishing and the dead quiet that can come on a cold crisp morning can be very soothing....hot rum helps too

Cheers!

Hot rum is a must for me. I like those sunny March days where you don't have to hudle in the tent away from the wind.

The thing that i cant wait for the most is the flag popping up and seeing that spool on the tip-up goin 100 miles and hour, i think that has to be what i miss the most, or just watching your rod slowly bend right over, plus its also pretty funny watching friends bail on the ice

Trust me you pull a couple of these big boys threw the ice a year i think your opinion will change in a hurry.

There are alot of good lakes up there for ice fishing. Im sure some guys that fish up there will be able to help you out more if you are interested but a few i know of is Pigeon lake, Buck lake, Buffalo, Gull Sylvan, Lac Ste Anne.

Last years we were out ice fishing the 2nd week of November. Best Walleye fishing i had seen in a long time. Morning and evening deer/moose hunting and during the day walleye fishing. that was the best week i have ever had.

Very excited. Bought an underwater camera this summer and a used ice fishing shack from AO member. Excited to try and catch some whitefish and walleye this winter and never had any luck in the past. Keep watching youtube of the underwater footage and can't wait. Have to get hunting season out of the way first which is always exciting.

Nothing like going hunting in November, only to stop mid day to ice fish for some brookies.
