Default Wabamun lake slippery?

Planning on taking a bunch of young kids out boxing day 2-6yr Olds. Can anyone comment on ice conditions, specifically is it pure ice out or is it snow covered. Extremly slippery
Doesn't work well and we will postpone if that's the case. THANKS. We will be walking out.from the sailing club.

Was at Wab yesterday. No snow cover what so ever. Smooth as glass! 11 ins. of good black ice. Crazy hard to walk on even with cleats. Great for ice skating right now.
Lota of little walleye to be caught. Not sure what the conditions will be like on boxing day.

Thanks for the reply’s! Really appreciate it. Fishing is all about getting out and having fun and it’s no fun for the little ones if they can’t walk! fingers crossed we get some snow over the break.

If you are willing to drive a bit, Cross Lake would be perfect for you now. Just enough snow cover making it very easy to walk and lots of perch to keep little ones interested. I was just there today and lots of people are starting to drive on it, including pickups.
