Ax handles in Calgary?
My ax handle is finally done, after about 35 years it won’t stay tight anymore.
Who in Calgary sells good handles?

I recently bought a Unex handle from Kent of Inglewood, its a direct replacement for the Ochsenkopf Axe's they sell so it required a bit of fitting for my axe. Decent quality for $30.
The only other place I have bought from in Calgary is Lee Valley. Also good quality.
Check out Bushcraft Canada's website if you can't fins anything locally.

Axe
I have started to renew old axe heads and rehang them.
Cdn Tire, Home Hardware, etc. I sometimes/usually have to pick through them to find good ones. Once you find a good one, sand the cheap finish off and oil it.

I've made a few which is not hard if you have the right tools and some woodworking skills. For me, that's a bandsaw, spokeshaves, rasp and stationary belt/disc sander.

I've had them loosen up as well. When that happens, I soak them in antifreeze. The antifreeze swells the wood and does not evaporate, another wedge helps too..Maybe this will get you by..

Peavey Mart has a branch in Airdrie.
When I needed a quality specialized (read small) replacement for a horseshoe nail driving hammer 5yrs ago they had an impressive selection to choose from (Rocky Mtn House).
Creeky....

Good Tip, I've always soaked them in water, I'll try the anti freeze next time.
Lee Valley sells replacement Hickory axe handles for Gransfors axes, might be able to fit it to your axe

Home Hardware on line and delivered to my local store have been good quality. Princess Auto (surprisingly) also has decent handles but limited sizes
If it’s a good axe, order handles from Rod Cumberland the East Coast Lumberjack. Top quality handles which are handmade by a guy who really understands the dynamics of an axe handle. He will build any style in any size for a very reasonable price. He’s on Facebook.
When you get your handle, keep it in the driest place in your house for a couple weeks so it is completely shrunk when you hang the head on it.
If you’re in a hurry, I have a couple that I could be talked out of if you agree to replace them.
