Seriously, old talent should be more valuable to trade to a contender this year. Only have to pay half their salary and they will still be fresh when playoffs roll around.
Me thinks,,,, its iggy and silver,,,,nyquil and lots a rest ,,,iggy is ready

Even if the Oilers finish last, No guarantee of 1st pick, the 14 teams that don't make the playoffs enter a draw to see who gets 1st pick. We can finish 9th in the West and get top pick, How sweet would that be? People want to play in Calgary, No one wants to play in Edmonton. Its a win win.

Wouldn't it be something if all the fans boycoted the rest of the season. That would hit them in the pocket book. But unfortunately we all know it will never happen.

Describe what you mean by success please. The NBA is still on TV and the league still makes profit (for now...)

Anyone find all the press conferences and interviews with players and teams pompous and condescending?

All this chatter about "it is all about the fans" and "we love the fans" and "the fans are what makes this sport great" and blah blah blah.

No...it was all about pensions for millionaires. It was all about greedy millionaires fighting over money and not carrying one bit. It is all about squeezing as much money from the fans as possible to pay for their early golfing seasons. It is about ensuring after you make a big salary that you can stop playing and coast.

Lol where on EARTH did you get fooled into thinking players want to play in calgary. One of your best defenseman wants out! As much as edmonton AND calgary are boring towns compared to places likeLA and new york its a fact the oilers are now a wanted franchise as far as players go. Justin schultz anyone? Calgary wasnt even on his short list.

Where's all the Canuck fans? We all know the Canucks will whip the oilers butts, though I do count them as my second team and I really look forward to the product the Oilers could put on the ice this year. Calgary? Do they still play hockey in Calgary?

GO CANUCKS

Went out for chineese about 2 months ago. The fortune cookie said your team will win the championship. So I got the Leafs wining the cup. I also had a dream 2 days ago that the oilers beat the sharks in overtime. So you all heard it here first. Leafs win the cup. Oilers beat sharks in overtime.

Canucks have better defence this year, maybe the best back up goalie in the nhl. They just need a goal scorer for the Sedin's and a healthy Kessler.Oh and an ENFORCER.Then we'll see.

I just added up the numbers, even double checked them to make sure I got the right result and I did, The Edmonton Oilers have officially been Eliminated from the 2013 NHL playoffs. Good luck next year boys.
