Default Mountain Goat outfitters

Any recommendations on goat outfitters? Looking more at the west coast than the interior but I'd consider anywhere

My suggestion is to look at outfitters on Kodiak Island They have the highest density of anywhere in Alaska can get 2 over the counter tags Enjoy it where ever you decide to go!!

Bolen Lewis would be well worth a look. I've also heard great things about Wild Coast.

A ton of good options in the Kootenays and northern rockies as well. Just a different hunt/experience/trophy quality as well though.

After moving to BC chasing goats has likely been one of the highlights, such awesome critters to chase around the hills.

My brother is an outfitter, he owns Beaverfoot Outfitting it is near Golden BC so actually really close and easy to get to. He has really good success with goats. You can checkout his website if you like. http://beaverfootoutfitting.com/

Did you do a regular hunt or did you do one of the scout hunts? I really want nice hair so he suggested October instead of august. If I had to choose between a 9 inch goat with awesome hair or a 10.5 inch short hair goat, I would go 9 inch all day long.

Not on the coast but I hunted with Logan Peasley (Peasley Hunts) last October, it was a blast. Goat had fantastic hair (mid-October), can't wait to get it back from the taxidermist. If you want any more info feel free to send me a PM.

Wildcoast gets my vote.

I’ve shot my far share of goats and his territory is some of the best I’ve seen. Owner is a solid guy.

I've chatted with Angus- he was a super straight shooter and very helpful. Really hope to swing a goat hunt with him in the next couple of years.

I’m looking for a goat hunt in the fall of 2020. How about Lord River Outfitters, any experience with Tom and Alice?

FYI Wild coast is no longer in business, he sold out to the anti's, also know as the raincoast conservation foundation.

Foundations (Anti’s) have purchased several of the outfitters so that the allocations don’t get used. Seems as though buying out the outfitters happened more so in the BC Central Coast area.

Allocations need to be treated how traplines are "supposed" to be treated. If not used it is taken away

Yes, we were ready to book a hunt for 2020 with him and he said he was not taking anymore bookings for 2020 as he had sold his area and the people he sold it to were not hunting the area. Raincoast brags about buying the kitlope area (which was angus'), so when I asked he said yes he did sell to them and that they paid double what he was asking. While I disagree with selling to the anti's, how do you blame a guy (who isn't a millionaire) for selling to someone who is literally asking double what his asking price was. While it bummed me out, I understood and cant say I wouldn't have done the same. I hold no ill feelings towards him, he is an awesome guy with some great stories.

That's a shame. Great guy and outfitter and a fantastic area! Thanks for the update.

I don’t think he had a choice, he was likely going broke without his bear hunts to pay the bills. You can’t survive doing 8 goat hunts a year that involve flying. It’s unfortunate the area is gone forever now, but this was likely the best outcome for him.
And if there is compensation for the loss of our grizzly hunts down the road, he’ll still get the money even though it sold

Yep, It is definetly a shame and like I said, you cant blame a guy whatsoever for doing it. I think the outfitting part was a business to him, but definetly not his primary income as he is also a helicopter pilot. He straight up told me that he didn't make a living off the outfitting.
