Default Swiss Guy in Alberta

Hi there,
I will come to Alberta 1st of July. First we will go to Canmore for 5 nights and go fishing the Bow. A floating trip for the first day already booked.

Later we will stay in Sundre for a few days and live at my aunts house.

Is there any interesting water near Sundre? I checked google earth and find out that the red deer river is there. How is fishing there? is there any good places near Sundre? We have a car, so it's no problem for us to drive somewhere.

Thks for your help guys!
TL, Mitch

lots of great water in that area. basically hit the Forestry Trunk Road and start fishing every stream that crosses it.

i would suggest picking up the Alberta Fishing Guide and Barry Mitchels Alberta Trout Hiway-Fishing the Forestry Trunk Road. the fishing guide will let you know what streams and rivers hold fish and what type and the book goes into a lot of detail about where and when to fish these waters. both are must haves if fishing in Alberta for trout. most everysporting good store has both these books on the shelf and the Alberta Fishing Guide can be found at most larger department stores (like Canadian Tire and Walmart).

good luck and good fishing.

Any of the rivers west of the oil spill should be good.
