Default Southern reservoirs

Hey all, anyone else find it’s been fairly slow down here? I mostly go to travers or Williams lake and been super slow only a few decent days so far.

I have also found that to be the case. I am a fairly inexperienced angler though.

I usually fish McGregor or twin Valley

I think he’s referring to little bow reservoir as Williams lake.

I ice fished Travers for the first time last weekend and thought it was pretty slow. We only put 3 fish on the ice from 9-3:30 and didn't see to many other fish caught by anyone where we were.

How was the ice lately? I went there during that warm week and it was water everywhere on ice and not any decent spots to really get on the ice anywhere.

Not bad now, people are drivin on but I wouldn’t recommend it. Little bow is around 14-15” and the last I was on travers near the campground was at 8”

Travers at the Little Bow Resort is 15”

Fishing was fairly slow. I spent 3 days out there during the Family Day weekend and only caught about 15ish total. One was a hog but bit my line off after a few minutes.

Here is some scary news.

T he Crows Nest river has gone dry. YIKES. It flows into the Old Man and the Old Man Res. is at 30%

The town of Pincher Creek gets it water from the river and is now digging down into the river to find water under the dry beds.

Nothing looks good for the south country this spring unless March and April kick it into high gear with the snow and rain. Lets hope for the best.

Default River

The z Crowsnest river is not dry, it is very low though. It is below the pump inlet so they are digging a sump to pump from.
I would say the dam, is a lot lower than 30%. The only water at the north fork campground is the oldman riverbed. Looks like more of a creek than a river.

Thanks for the update from a local. The Calgary news paper reported the river was dry.

Not as many burbot as previous years, still can catch a few during the spawn. Travers is usually better since it's much deeper.
