Default 300 Weatherby Brass

I know out of the Weatherby cartridges the 300 isn't the most expensive but I was at Cabela's and 20 rounds of 300 Weatherby ammo (180 grain Norma Spitzer) was $44.99 Closer online inspection Wholesale sells the same ammo at the same price.
Now to buy Weatherby brass 20 rounds of unprimed brass is $49.99 @ wholesale

This seems odd to me that they can sell loaded ammo cheaper than they can sell unprimed brass?

Anyway I bought 20 rounds as I would like to shoot a few factory bullets to foul up my barrel prior to load development but just thought it seemed odd to get such a good price on loaded ammo vs brass .....ammo was the same price for 257 and 270 in the Norma spritzer FYI.

Same thing at Prophet river, that one load in 257, 270, 300 and 240 cost the same as brass but at 43.99.
Great that weatherby does that.

I think its a recent thing AND its just one load per caliber. Spitzer bullet. Likely, helps sell vanguard rifles to guys as many would not but a $500 rifle then have to send $100 on a box of ammo.

The only two Weatherby chamberings that they load reasonably price ammo for are the 300 and 257.....which, are the only two Wby chamberings the Vanguard has been chambered in for quite some time. Early on in the Vanguard's life it was chambered in 270 Wby...and recently in 240.

But a lot of Vanguards have been sold in 300 and 257,....hence the cheap ammo....IMHO,...YMMV...:-)

257 Weatherby ammo with 100 gr soft points is $44.95 at Cabelas.

Only Two more "bee's" left, and my personal collection will be over...I needs me a 257 & the 7mm wby.

Thats a good price for 257 Wby...it can be pricey.

I don't care for that SP stuff though...its just a bit too friable.

Thumbs up 300 WBY brass

Once fired Weatherby 300 brass
Cheap

Noticed site is not responding but his email and contact number are on the web page

The cheaper 180gr Weatherby ammo with the Norma SP is not loaded as hot as the more expensive Weatherby ammo with Nosler Part.
