Hi all.
Heading to diefenbaker end of the month. Going in completely blind. Anyone got any advice on where to start? Probably for walleye and pike. Where to stay? Any info will help.
Thanks
Patrick
Hey Patrick, I was there for a week this summer and camped out in Elbow at Tufts bay campground. If I could give any I would say drop off flat and bays. Go into all the bays and just fish like you normally would looking for anything that might hold fish or attract them. I know it can be overwhelming being as huge as it is. Danielson park is also good fishing.
Spent some time there ...... I'm from around there originally.
Gotta find the Trout Farm. They raise rainbows there and the action
around there is awesome. Each year thousands escape and hang
around there . All species seem to hang around the nets there and
its just great fishing. Another idea is the coule that runs in besides
Hitchcock Bay.
It drops off from shore to about 40 ft in about 20 steps !

both places have easy access to with a vechicle.
Good Luck !!
I think this summer I'm going to have to drive out there from the campsite (The Landing) and make a day of it out there. Walleye fishing gets so boring after a week and would love to catch some of those fat trout on a fly rod. Water is usually so muddy in July though and it definitely makes it tougher than it has to be
was there 2 summers ago, stayed in elbow at sarahs cove resort. nice place, reasonable price, close to lake. gas station in town has licences, restarunt next door ,good food & freindly. hope this helps.
North end, near the dam, near the info centre actually, there is a small bay that gets land locked in the winter when the water is low... There are usually some hogs in there.
