Default Browning BAR ShortTrac/LongTrac

Looking at purchasing a Browning BAR ShortTrac in .308 or 7mm-08 as my "big woods" rifle. Topping it with a Burris "red dot" should yield a lightweight combination that will be very useful in the tight cover I typically find myself hunting in at our "hunt camp", where a long shot would be 75 meters.

Anyone shot/owned either a ShortTrac or LongTrac BAR? Any opinions welcomed.

Love them personally. The safari is the class gun though.

Never found it good in tight cover. I won't carry it with one in the chamber, so loading the gun is always aggressive and noisy. Not the best technique for being stealthy.
