Default Need advice on Soptting Scope

I know nothing about spotting scopes and I need one for the shooting range. I want to get a good one that will show me the target at 500 yards or more. Please advice which brand and power do I need to see the target that far away. I can spend about 2 grand on the scope but would like to keep it as low as possible.

Thanks

I use a Ziess, its a 15-45 power scope not sure on the price but I really like it for Clarity. You can't go wrong with the Swarovskis either, they come in 20-60 power which might benefit you at the range. Either one are winners and they both have great warranties and both have 60 mm or 80 mm objectives. I think the 60mm is plenty. Pricy scopes, but they are an investment for a lifetime, you'll be very happy with both. Best thing to do is go to BPS and get them to take you outside with acouple different ones and compare for yourself. With optics you definately get what you pay for. Hope this helps.

Default choices

500 yards is a long way to see bullet holes in paper, unless the holes are 50 cal. FS

I have the new Vortex Razor HD 20-60 x 85mm it works well and its just about half the price of a swarovski, look through them both sitting side by side not much differance I really like it. If you want something cheap just for the range celestron has a high power fairly clear spotting scope
