Default Anyone have custom ruger 10/22's?

Starting a build and looking for idea's/suggestions on what to do. I have ordered a 10" barrel from dlask in bc and want to do a trigger job. (Not sure where or how) I would like a custom stock but not sure what direction to go.

I do know the overall length must be over 26"

Anyone that has pictures would be nice to see.

Thanks

Is it a newer 10/22 with the plastic trigger group?

I'm not sure, just got the gun from p and d and really want to learn the in's and outs of guns smithing and it seems rugers have lots of aftermarket parts and accs. Also not too expensive to get started.

This is Boyd's evolution stock, you can order them on line for about 100 bucks. This is the most comfortable and natural grip I have on any of the rifles I own, I would put them on all of them if they were availble. I have a couple of internal "upgrades" but I can not recall now exactly where I got them from but there are lots of companies on line, just google 10/22 accessories.

Not the greatest pic, but I gave this one to one of my sons for Christmas, for his .17

On a side note, if one could build a small enough and light enough ruger could you carry it on your back while carrying a large caliber so while walking into the tress you can hunt big game and on your way out get the grouse or other small game? Think it would work?

I have 3 10/22's
First one has a Boyd's Evolution stock, Kidd 2 stage trigger group, 20" fluted Green Mountain barrel and Simmons 6-18x 40 Pro Target scope

Second is in a Boyd's Blaster stock,a 16.5" GM fluted .920 bull barrel, Rimfire Technologies charging handle, Rimfire Technologies mag release & I just put an old bushnell 4x scope and champion bipod.

Third I just put together, I picked up an AMT Lightning receiver with trigger & bolt, just put on a stock 10/22 barrel & Houge stock. This one is kinda cool, the entire receiver, bolt, trigger group & even pins are all stainless steel, it also has a built in weaver rail to mount a scope.

Simply no....this is not true, you can carry more than one rifle while hunting if you want to. In Alberta anyhow.

this one has a 12" Dlask barrel. It is 27" with the stock compressed. Magpul 20 shot AR mag chopped and 10 round Ruger mag glued to it. If I did it again I would go with a lighter contour barrel.

Here's mine, green mountain 16.5" fluted bull barrel, B&C odyssey stock, vq target trigger, hammer, extractor, and sear, rimfire tech bolt handle and mag release. There's a no name buffer in there as well.

I built this ten years ago and have a gopher kill count in the thousands. It was my first rifle and still my favorite.

This one is my wife's. she wanted a cleaner looking rifle so this time I went with a GM 18" smooth bull barrel and a nice pepper laminate stock that I cant remember the name of the manufacturer. Just the vq drop in hammer and a buffer inside.

Here's mine

18.5" Green Mountain fluted .920 barrel
Archangel kit
Full Volquartsen internals
Cheap bushnell scope in a Burris AR PEPR mount (had it kicking around from another build)
Millet red dot 30mm (I swap between the 2 sights)
Magpul AFG

Piles of fun, and shoots 1MOA @ 100yds on a calm day if I do my part.

Mike O, Where did you get that B&C Stock? They are over the $ limit for importing.

Depends how it is classified. I have ordered and received a HS Precision rifle stock that I paid $175 for....it was opened and inspected by Homeland Security....taped back up and continued its way to my doorstep.

I guess $100 is just the limit of certain supplyers (Boyds) I've looked a a few places that sell Bell & Carlson and they just say they don't ship internationally.

I bought all my stuff from rimfire sports before he stopped shipping barrels up to us. I didn't have an issue with customs other than the fact I had to pay duty on it.

I wish I could remember the name of the company that I bought my wife's stock from. It was somewhere in BC and way cheaper than importing.

I really like that little setup. Just ordered a couple stocks from Boyd's. I'm short a 10/22 but I guess it's the perfect excuse to pick another one up!!
