This was my 13 year old sons first year bowhunting as he could finally pull legal weight. After practicing all summer, he was 100% decided that the first buck he had a chance at he was going to send an arrow at. Didnt take long, and honestly I dont think he would have been any more happy if it was a 180" deer, hes hooked on archery for sure!
Best part is he made a perfect shot at 19yds, and it only went about 30yds and we watched it fall. Was pretty tough staying quiet in the blind after that haha!

Opening morning, walking to my stand at 5am and my target buck who of course I’ve never seen in daylight was right in my path to my stand. I watched him at 100 yds for a few minutes till walked off to never be seen again. I figured that was my one chance for the season.
On the 2nd day of the season I decided to go to another spot where I know there are nice Muleys. I pulled my buck draw this year and have been excited for the chance to chase Muleys.
Well, hunting is a funny sport. You never know what will happen. About 1 hour into the hunt, this guy walked out into the field. I watched him for over an hour till we were almost out of time and I had to make a decision. He was about 178 yds out in the field. So I got down from my stand and did a stalk. I had a long shot to make but I had time to setup and wait and I made a perfect double lung shot and he was down. What a night!

That is a dandy buck, and fantastic that you got on the ground to stalk him and make that shot! Congrats

My first velvet archery whitetail. Made a bad shot last night so I backed out and went in this morning. No blood or sign of any kind so I just followed game trails one at a time from the shot and 5 hrs later I spotted him bedded in a grassy opening. Waited til he stood up and got him double lung at 40 yards. He was bedded 900 yards from where he was initially hit. Kicking myself for the rushed shot last night, but beyond relieved to recover him today!

That's really good you had the persistence (and knowledge of the area) to track him down and close the deal. Beauty buck too, congrats!

Wonderful to see successful hunters glowing with pride. Congrats to all who have darted their animals and birds. Great to see the smiles after the hunt.

I got out yesterday to chase antelope with my bow. Been out scouting a few times and found quite a few bucks in a field that I got permission on. Put a couple stalks on bucks but got busted. Then I spotted this buck walking in my direction, so I sat down in the middle of this harvested pea crop just keeping the decoy facing him. He kept walking closer and closer but would stop, so I would move the decoy side to side to make him think I (it) was walking towards him. He got turned broadside at 46 yards so I shot. He went down within 60 yards but was still alive, so he got another shot.

15 year olds first elk
My boy got his first elk last Saturday night! He made a perfect 43 yard shot, and luckily the bull didn’t make it back into the thick corn field. We were able to drive right to him. We put a tape to him tonight and came to a rough measurement of 325-5/8.
It’ll be tough to beat!

I got this bull at 12 yards on a run couple of days ago.
Got it through both lungs but a bit too far back.
He managed to walk couple hundred yards before laying down and there was no blood trail.
Me and my partner we spent couple of hours to find him.
