Default rapala

I like to run a leader off my rapalas. I find them a mess to store in my gear ...anyone have ideas about storing them neatly?

Tie up some fluorocarbon leader material and make your own leaders. They roll up nice and tight and can fit into one of your tray slots quite nicely.

I use 60-80lb Leader Material and attach a high quality (like berkley) barrel swivel to one end and snap swivel to the other side.

***make sure you use material marked on the roll as "leader material" not just fluorocarbon line, although they are both fluorocarbon, they are made differently and the leader material is bite proof and abrasion resistant.

I keep them in the original packaging and store them in a big plastic tackle bag case. Its easy to pull them out and put them back in the original packaging.

Cut to fit a piece of styrofoam. Inbed trebles in foam. or something like that.

Titanium leaders are way nicer to deal with. I have seen them wrapped around a paper towel tube lol

Just trying to figure out your problem.

You make leaders and want to store them? Ziplock bag.

You tie a leader onto each rapala? Not sure why you would do this but sounds like it it is what you do. I just tie leader onto main line then switch rapalas out, faster and less finicky then tying leader on each time. If set on this method then I would coil leader up and secure with twist ties prior to storage.

Its the rapalas you aren't sure how to store? Most guys use the plano stowaway type containers.

Default Rigrap

Try www.rigraponline.com. A little spendy but if kept in one of their totes it eases the mess.

Default Pre-tied leaders

Here's a tip: Place a Mack's Smile blade half way between the barrel swivel and the snap swivel. Or try 5 beads and a Colorado blade at the business end.

Use either a loop knot or a wide gap clip to enhance the side-to-side movement.

X2. Takes more room BUT you don’t have a big mess of treble hooks laying around.

Not sure if this helps as I don't store my leaders attached to my lures.

I store my leaders is a large zip lock rectangular plastic container (https://ziploc.com/en/products/conta...arge-rectangle) and for smaller crankbaits I use the Alex Keszler method.

I suppose if you wanted to keep both leader and lure attached you could use the pool noodle technique as it might work.

Use a macdonalds Straw. Cut them into pieces 3 or 4 inches long. Roll the leader up pinch it in the center of the loops and slide one end into the straw. Keeps everything neat and you get a couple free every time you hit Rotten Ronnies😀
