Default Long coupling nuts?

I am looking for 8” 1/4-20 coupling nuts for a project I’m working on for my reloading bench. Basically I need long wing nuts. Valve coverT nuts would work, but the longest I can find is 5”. Does anyone know if they make such an animal? Thanks.

Do you need the threads to be full depth such as with an extended rod coupling or do you need them only at one end? If you only need them at one end then perhaps you could fabricate some by brazing or epoxying a rod coupling into a piece of copper / steel / aluminum tubing? Gouging up the inside of the tubing would allow for better traction for epoxy if the things are going to see much in the way of torque, the hex pattern of rod couplings and their long developed length should work just fine.

I’ll likely end up doing something similar to that. I need about 3/4” of threads, so may use these pictured below and add and epoxy a coupling nut on the end to give me the length I need.

what about making some? get the longest ones you can find and run them in together on some threaded rod (so as to keep the threads of the nuts in line). with the nuts butted together give a quick tack on three sides, remove the threaded rod and complete the weld. grind smooth as desired.

Get some ready rod--all thread---nuts and just add what you need for length to the top end.

This should do the trick.
