Default Question

Looking at that 4th pic I would say he will be a dandy by hunting season!

However how much growing time is left for antler growth?

I would imagine whitetails and muleys still grow until mid September, Moose untill mid to late August and Elk end of July early August.

Am I close?

Thanks
Mike

Default antler growth?

mike, the whitetails are usually done by the 1 st week of september. i have bowhunted lots on the sept 7 opener and have only seen one small buck with any kind of velvet left, in our area anyways.
they grow depending on diet and nutrients of course between 1/2 inch to one inch per day. so being optimistic this guy could potentially grow another 60 inches. wouldnt that be nice!!!
i was hunting a gauranteed 180 class last year and i know that nobody in the area got him.
maybe just maybe this is him, smiles!! i will be checking the cameras fairly soon and should have some more good pics of him..
take care, rob

Nice pic's got to get me a few trail cam's what are you guys recommending for camera's??
Speaking of nice bucks I'm driving in from Prince George regularily these days as building a house 25 min west of edmonton to move back to Ab and saw one june 22 that already had G2 and G3's over 12 inches and rack out past his ears That was between Hinton and edson He'll be a 180 plus by sept. For the exact spot it was that big tree by that little tree

Default trailcam?

gord, the only one i have ever used is the treebark cams. i am running two of them and they have worked excellent over the last two years. if i had extra money kicking around i would buy another. take care, rob
