Nice Lake Whitefish

Wow got another nice Lake Whitefish today and what a fight .. got to love when a fish give you his all in the fight.. lost a few .. on a fly rod too!!!

saw some pike too but nothing that would make me put the Big Raps out

it was a very hot day here in Jasper today 28

the Damsel and Dragonfly's were active and this guy

with lots of surface action the Lake Whites were hunting and rising everywhere around me

Osprey and Eagle were in the air

Gonna have to stop in one day. Very unique lake. Pike up in the mountians intrigues me.

Fantastic pics, sedge hatch rocks. White on the fly has been so long may be at buck .

Congrats on an other nice fish. U got to have a magic fly in ur box. I was up there last weekend for two days and no whiteys for me

found one school on sat but it was pretty windy so was not able to stay on them but did land 8 pikes. Sun was way nicer day no wind and 10 minutes on the found a big school, so drop the anchor and try to land some of these whitys. 2 hours tried avery flys in my box and all they would is swim all around me. Drove me nuts so had enough of that bs, put the 6wt away took out my 8wt and went looking for pike. Landed 11 all on a 5" red rooster tail. Il b back jus got to figure out ur Magic flys again congrats

Great thread. I'm quite intrigued, may have to go chase some whites. This mountain lake.... Is it pike n whites only?

Yes but it has access to the Athabasca through a creek

Lol where do you reside, speckle? You seem to fish at talbot a lot.
I would love to visit talbot for some whites but its simply too far...

Hey Gslice.... I live in Hinton so I fish and have fish the Jasper National Park a lot also most lakes/rivers/streams within 1 1/2 hrs of Hinton but some I don't fish any more as I have refined my fishing in later years .. also have notes that go back into the seventy's
