Default Cloths washer problems

Have a older top load whirlpool that the repair guy says to keep normally costs about 120 bucks to repair every few years but now not getting any hot into machine.Would they be any kind of a check valve or internal valve.i do have hot water to the machine and that’s where it stops.

There is a water valve just inside the place your hoses join on. They frequently die
Cheap part and easy to replace.
New machines are just as bad as they can get. A years past warrantee and you can expect to replace them.

That would be called a solenoid valve, there will be one on the cold supply and one on the hot supply, they may even be a siamesed pair so both would be replaced at once. Get your machines brand and model number and google "brand model# schematic" and zoom in on your parts list. Reliable Parts should have the part or be able to get it.

Also called a fill valve. Should be a combo unit on an old whirlpool (hot and cold together ). Flip top up and take the screw out of the sheet metal above the hose connection on the washer.
Extremely easy repair.
