Default Humbolt Squid

http://www.redorbit.com/news/science...fornia-010713/

I have hooked them off the coast of the Queen Charlottes. Pretty crazy to hook up.

These squid grow from single cell to 5 feet long in 1 year.

Funny thing you mention that! Was just chatting with a guy in Cabo regarding a charter fro a day, and when he asked what I was looking to catch, i said SQUID!! HUMBOLT SQUID!! he took a second, then asked if I was serious...I said Sure! Why the hell not! Still not sure if we will or not.....

Smile Great to catch

We caught them in the sea of Cortez, they weighed about 70 lbs. and at night when we were fishing them they would pass through our light and turn all kinds of colours. The whales were fishing near by and we could hear them breath. Ever now and again when you would get one close to the boat the line would go slack and the skipper would say, "bandito" it was a sea lion, he just left the tentacles.

They are great to fish!
