Default what is the best time to fish gull?

I was wondering what would be the best time to fish gull....as i get there around 10 and fish till dusk....but never catch anything.....is the fishing much better at 730-10?....will my camera scare off the fish? how can i draw the fish in to my lures?

i really hate getting skunked....

thanks

No set time that I have noticed . Just as the sun reaches the horizon, brings on the pike for abut 30 min . Then there is a slight increase in perch activity just before dark . Find a solunar chart they work imo. It is said white fish are more active in the morn.

Go early, stay late. Make some excuse for the church.

In the summer lol. I,ve noticed more perch activity just before dusk but only in the last week. Previous to that, it was always painfully slow, morning, noon and evening. It seems to be picking up now somewhat.

Usually get there at sun up and fish to close to sun down. always have our camera, this sunday we got the whole spectrum . Pike, burbs, perch, whites. There is definitely quiet times and busy times but it seems to vary. Fish are like hobos. Transient. Seems like you have to find one of the TRAILS they follow and set up camp. You might be looking in the wrong spots.

We have had best action from first light until around 11:00 AM then a slow period until around 2:00PM then it picks up until sunset. Whites, pike and burbs are our focus. Bright, sunny days seem better than dull, cloudy days.

Morning and dusk are best for gull. The sunny days on Gull seem better then cloudy days for some odd reason, sylvan is the opposite. Spoons where working last weekend. The whites will always shy away from eating when a camera is down.

I think the best time to fish gull is any time you can get out there. Not catching a fish is still better than going to work.

When I used to fish Gull alot.. we had our holes drilled and gear set up 1\2 hour before first light///and left by 11 with a limit of whites or a few released ones.

if you arent seeing any fish, try making some noise, jig a loud rapala or the like for a while, then put your bait back down, this can draw in pike at least from quite a distance, Sunday was very slow, but when I rattled my rapala I had one pike come in so hard and fast it hit the lure 6 times before it got the hook. makes up for the slow spots

Haven't been out last week but the week before was good for whites on the south side of the lake.

I'm not targeting them specifically but had them come in and hit a jig with a minnow tipped, a small spoon, small perch hooks. Most of them were fairly large whites and I wasn't able to get many of them through the hole without them spitting the hook.

Are you staying in one spot all day or are you moving around? I tend to move around a lot. Especially if they aren't biting. I'll stay at a spot for maybe 15 mins, try a few things, if I don't see fish I move maybe 20-30 feet and try again. Even if I am seeing fish I will move 5-10 feet as it seems the fish get used to seeing the lure in one spot and moving locations seems to get them to bite again.

I think if you live close enough to Gull to fish it regularly then you can probably have the odd good day there but for me, I usually don't start fishing Gull until late February when it seems more consistantly productive!

Before noon & maggots , maggots optional . The old guy got 2 whites on a little perch hook with nothing on it this Saturday . Slows down by lunch time , see lots on the TV but not biting .
