Default Wabamun Walleye

Mudbug and I went out to Wab on Sunday for a couple hours and managed to reel in 25 walleye and a couple pike . the interesting part was that there was some size variation which tells me they are reproducing . Caught one little guy about 7 inches and one bigger one 20" and the rest were the standard 12 to 14 inch. The pike were smaller but aggressive.
They would have nothing to do with a spoon but attacked the rattle type plugs .

A number of different sizes/classes and ages of walleye were introduced over a number of years into the lake which would explain the variation in sizes.

As a result, seeing this variation in size does not mean they are reproducing, however, the Biologists have said there seems to be some spawning taking place on the lake, but all of these fish would be far smaller compared to what sizes you are catching right now.

Ahh that makes sense. It's too bad the powers that be wouldn't think of dumping a few million perch or something so the predators have something to eat besides each other.
