The jawjacker combined with a fish camera, sonar, generator and a tv will provide the ultimate outdoor fishing experience.

I don't think that this can be stated too many times! Make damned sure that you have glasses on!

I guess I am wondering why would you want to use something that could possibly cause significant harm.

Cannot see how any fish is worth an eye.

Started using one last winter. Doesn't make the fish hungry but if they bite the hook, the set is great. Make sure you load it from the side as mentioned elsewhere in the thread!!!

Let's just say ....... I was surprised how violently the jaw jacker can be when triggered by an unsuspecting fish.

I was lucky the first time she went off when I was setting it up. My forearm had a lash mark on it that was there for a week or two.

Making sure your face is away from the travel of the loaded rod and you have your other hand in place (holding the rod tip down) when setting the trigger , as you gradually and gently let go, is a good idea.

That Jacker will literally jump up and bite you if you are not careful.

It is awesome - best tool ever as far as I'm concerned.

After all - who wouldn't dream of becoming a pirate with an eyepatch????

I am teasing and exaggerating a little to make a joke with a little bit of a friendly warning.

No doubt - It could be harmful - bit I'm sure most people are careful and smart enough to keep their face away when setting the trigger on a fully loaded rod.

After you get the setting right for the rod - the hook up % is very high. Works fantastic.

Just keep your head out of the way of the rod, so when it trips it doesn't smack you in the lips.....

A good technique when setting might be to put your knee over the rod so if it does let go, it hits your shin. Trappers do it when setting snares.

Never I've fished so going to try it this year. Thinking of making my own out of pvc. Wouldn't this be snagging? Is it not illegal because it's not spring loaded just loaded from the bend in the rod tip?

Ya that is true haha. Well figured I'd ask because I always get stopped by F&W and I would imagine that would be a pricey fine.
