Not quite sure what the human interest is but im a human and im intested in these. Somm and somm into the bottle where very interesting all about wine and diffremt aspects of it. The next one would be look whos back. Its somewhere between a documentry and a eye opening comedy if thats a thing. Its about hitler survivng the bunker and the response he would gather in modern times. Word of warning its in german with english subtitles. Anyway they are all on netflix and very interesting.

Cue the flood of Dick Proenneke recommendations...
I heard the new Planet Earth is coming soon or is already out....another documentary that they took over 10 years to film. In all honesty I have my laptop hooked to my tv through HDMI and I just go to youtube and sort the documentaries by length and then by popularity and watch what seems good.
2 random ones I just watched (not on youtube but putlocker) was Weiner (crazy behind the scenes look at Weiner and Huma's epic meltdown in full public view).....another I watched which may not be everyones cup of tea was called The Death of Superman Lives.....its about a crazy Tim Burton Superman movie from the 90's that was almost in production but never got made.
Also, if you haven't seen King of Kong or Chasing Ghosts-Beyond the Arcade then I would definitely recommend one or both of those.....again it might be a generational thing but my buddies and I really enjoyed them

The craziest thing I've seen on youtube was called The Ring of Power......4 hour marathon of an alternate world history that makes a lot of freaking sense. Don't get thrown by the low production values....its insanely mind bending in the end

If you ever spend time in the mountains in winter time, you might want to check out Snowman.

Amazing story, even if you aren't into mountain climbing. The book is good too.
If you are into mountain climbing, The Summit is another good one on Netflix. Or beyond the edge, about the first ascent of Everest.

I'm a documentaryaholic, new word for the day.
Too many to list. The "story of earth" is an excellent documentary on the earth's 4.5 billion year life. Provides many theories and a great timeline of possible events to lead to what we have now.
I love Egyptology, this one will stir the noodle.

Anything palaeontology, archaeology... Should have kept a list of the best ones. When it was proven that at least half the "known" dinosaurs were actually babies and juveniles of known species. Well, you get the picture. Lot of people were upset.

I'm docuholic as well. I got rid of satellite.
I use YouTube for now..stuff by prof Brian cox. Prof richard dawkins. Facts Science stuff, darwin related, plate tectonics, neanderthal, ardipithicus, sediva (sp), early human genetics and the like. Its usually way over my head but I watch it over and over or I accept I won't and move on. Lately been watching lectures by royal tyrell museum.( the suncor anklysaur find by the shovel operator) Nova programs like the great math mystery. The human genome project.
BBC first people's series.
anything with David attenbourough (I would have him do my funeral.)
Edward o. Smith. Entomologist, social biologist. Very easy to listen too.
I tried to watch intelligent design theory to get the jist of that thought marketting process but I just can't. Just plain painful.

My all-time favourite is a National Geographic special called "Lions and Hyenas: Eternal Enemies".

One of my favorite documentaries that's more of a hollywood style production is 'Lord of War' starring Nicholas Cage.
I'm not normally a Nick Cage fan, but the movie is based on real life stories of larger scale arms dealers and smugglers that was even endorsed by Amnesty International. Definitely worth a watch.
Bowling for Columbine is another one. A Michael Moore film about the school shooting in Columbine Colorado. One of my favorite parts of this film ironically enough features Marilyn Manson.

Saw this last night on netflix. Pretty scary, a documentary about when the government is losing control and refuses to do it's bit protecting citizens.Lot of different guns to see as well, swear I saw a couple of Chinese FA SKS look alikes, especially in Mexico, which has some of the most restrictive gun laws on the planet.

Bowling for Columbine is one of the first 'conspiracy-type' documentaries that I ever watched and at the time I thought it and Feirenheit 911 were awesome. But since I've found out how much Michael Moore edits his movies to prove his point.....he is very deceitful when he edits and often only plays half sentances or shows people talking from different interviews and mixes them so that they are taken out of context. Many film makers do this but Michael Moore is notoriously slimy about this.....so he's lost a lot of headway with me.

Totally agree Johnny. You would hope they're at least somewhat unbiased, but Michael Moore definitely puts his own slant on things. Oddly enough I haven't seen Fahrenheit 911 yet. Looks like I'll have something to watch this weekend

Fish! A Japanese Obsession is an incredible BBC documentary, even though the host is a liberal BBC wonk. It is on YouTube, but the soundtrack has been removed because it has a couple of Led Zeppelin songs. If you can find it - watch it.
