Default Suspensions?

I'm not trying to start trouble, but this site seems to be based pretty much on free speech. There are lots of different opinions expressed.

Is there a set of policies I can read that if not followed can lead to a suspension?

You've been a member since 2010, and you don't know the rules around these parts?:

Interesting!

I case you missed it:

The rules are a little vague.
I was told that disguised swears are a no no but I could not find that in the rules.
Very frequently you see acronyns, symbols or the phonetic alphabet used to disguise swear words.
It reminds me of the old George Carlin skit where he listed what words you could say on TV and what you can't.
I'm not saying that we need that list but maybe a rewording of the rules could be considered.

This is the one you need to remember.

Seems to be a lot of guys getting punted here lately. Some with pretty high post counts too. I always wish that I could see what they do to get put in the penalty box. Surely stating an opinion about something or taking a personal stand on a point can't be bad.
I find that when I go and look to see what gets them the hammer there is nothing there, I guess it's already been deleted.

I agree with you. I would like to see a definition of "flaming" too but this clearly is not a democracy and has never been disguised as one.

Bingo!

As for the disguised swears thing, if you're trying to disguise what you're writing to get around the swear filter it appears as though you are trying to sidestep the rules.

At the very top of the page in the black header.

Along with Home, Subsribe, AO Store.

I'm also pretty sure you clicked a "I Agree" or "Accept" box when you signed up too. Within the context of clicking this box it acknowledges that you will follow the rules.

This site is neither a democracy, or negotiable, this site is provided by other people for your benefit, and enjoyment. Think of it like visiting at someone's house, where you either follow the house rules, or get asked to leave.

Never really thought of it that way, but ya, hard to argue that point.

Smile Thanks Dick

I thought that there may have been a more exhaustive explanation but I'm happy with the status quo.

It's pretty simple, don't be a pain etc and you won't get suspended or banned, doesn't get much simpler than that
A lot of what you don't see can also lead to people getting a suspension etc. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean that it didn't or hasn't happened...........
