I think your missing something here....this derby is not for the kids, rather to raise money for the kids.

The ice fishing derby is at Wabamun on Feb 15th, $40 per hole. Everyone is welcome (even kids with parents supervision), its basicaly a fund raiser for the seriously ill kids of the Make-A-Wish.....so far we have raised nearly $30,000 for their program.
Every year we take the kids out for one day fishing (in the summer) at the private lake we stock with rainbows, there is an ambulance on stand-by and nurses lend their time to make sure the kids are safe and all goes smooth for them, there is 70 fishing rods donated from poachers who get caught and their gear gets taken away.....so if your poaching this season please use a good new rod lol.

I don't know of one website that would list them all. The Fishing Hole website sometimes has some under it's "events" category.

Off the top of my head there are derbies at:
Gull
Pine Lake
Newell
Badger
Crawling Valley
Wabamun

I'm sure I'm missing some, but that's what I can think of right now.

Exclamation Rumwal fishin derby

This is a great derby to join, all holes are pre drilled, food is supplied, hot dogs, great burgers with all the fixens, coffee, and even hot chocolate. There is always prizes $$$ for the biggest fish. I heard a roumor that a very nice home theatre system was possibly in the works for a grand prize. But all that set aside, the derby is all about raising funds for THE MAKE-A-WISH foundation, so that kids that are not able to enjoy such a sport, and the great outdoors are hopefully at some time through are support of a great cause able to do what we love to do and that is FISH. Last year there were some 105 cm jack fish caught, lots of whites and a few perch. Can't wait to see everyone out there!
