Does anyone have directions to dickson pond from Calgary? And is it even worth driving up there yet?

If you are coming up from Calgary I would suggest head north on highway 22 until you get to highway 54. Head east on 54 until you reach the town of Spruce View. On range road 31 head south (sign also point which way to Dickson). South through Dickson and keep on that road and you will hit the trout pond.

But it was still frozen yesterday though some of the shorelines were freeing up. I also haven't had great luck out there but with a fly maybe the chances would be better.

Cheers!

If you want to sight see take Hwy 22.... If you want to get fishing take Hwy 2 north to Innisfail, then Hwy 54 to Caroline/Spruceview & then turn south at Spruceview. Co-op gas bar at Spruceview has fuel, tackle, bait, snacks,...... Have fun once the ice is off!!

for the same length of drive, you could be out by eckshaw and go to dewitts pond..... I'd go to dewitts before I'd go to dickson.

the bite is coming a bit at Dickson. I caught two last weekend.
The lake beside it (Glennifer) is still dreadfully low though, and will be for awhile, so not too interesting for scenery.

Yes for sure Glennifer lake is very low you could probably walk across from carefree resort to the pond.
