Default Big River Walleye Classic

All interested parties have been informed that this tournament on Delaronde Lake has been cancelled for the 2015 season.

There are plenty of big walleye in that lake so don't be shy; drop by. Season opens May 15.

Thumbs down

Volunteer fatigue, poor angler participation (there was never more than half-full roster) and dwindling sponsor dollars.

It's tough to get them established. The timing is always tough due to regulations and all the tournaments overlapping. It was a long hike for the southern AB/SK teams too compared with the other options that are available. I think everyone has a limited amount of time and money, so they tend to pick a few tournaments and stick with them.

It's too bad, it's always a good thing to have options and from what I've heard it was a well run tournament with pretty good fishing.
