Your best bet would be to start with this:
http://www.srd.alberta.ca/MapsPhotos...ts/travers.pdf

Then zoom in to see the structure of the bottom of the lake. Typically walleye will hang out around some sort structure in the lake- whether it be a point, drop off, hump, etc- and typically move from deeper to shallower water to feed. Typically.... That's not always the case.

I haven't spent a whole lot of time down there this year, so I can't comment on what's been working and what hasn't been. But you usually can't go wrong with a jig tipped with a minnow or shiner, or a jigging spoon w/ or w/o bait, or lures that rattle, etc. You just have to spend a little time seeing what is working or what isn't. And don't be afraid to move around to different structures within the lake to try and find/get on them. The walleye in Travers, especially in the winter, can be a pain in the azz sometimes.

you caught a pickerel in there!!!!! I hope you kept it because you'd probably be the first person to ever catch a pickerel in an alberta lake......

If you are walleye fishing in travers however, Ice walleyes in that lake are hard to find and hard to get. This year the water level is so drastically lower as well very few people know "the keys" to finding walleye in that lake over the winter and even they sometimes walk away with nothing on the day. The fish in a res move alot from day to day so any advise you get is probably no more than a guess.

Print a bath map. Choose a couple places on some structure and go attack them. give it some time and I am sure you will track a couple down.

Sorry about the pickerel comment. It has just been soooooo long since whe have had that conversation that i figured id stir the pot

Hehe, maybe if we started calling them alberta walleyes, pickeral, the fishery would be half as good as, MB, SK, ON, QC etc etc

Won't be long before the Columbia River in BC starts to out produce AB with respect to wallickeral.
