[QUOTE=Deezel;4194094]There will be no celebrating Canada Day at my home until the turd is removed from power. His whole family has been a horrid disease for Canada. EVERY time a turd has been in power, they have taken it upon themselves to try and destroy the lives of Albertans.

Canada IS a great place that deserves a MUCH BETTER leader than the Alberta hating moron we have now. Prime Ministers should have a love for the ENTIRE nation, not just one province.

Exactly... roughly 1/2 the population (more if you lump the the various left leaning parties together) probably think the county is going in the proper direction.
Hate to say it but that is why I’m leaning more and more towards separating...on a national level people that think like us are in the minority.
Separation or start to model ourselves along the U.S. and give the individual provinces more say in how they govern themselves.
Canada is just too spread out and the people’s are just too different to have so much control in one location.

I'm a bit surprised with some of the comments about our Nation, nevertheless, I think we got it pretty good here and am very proud to be a Canadian.

As a member of our local Legion, I will miss marching in the Sylvan Canada Day Parade, with the RCMP, First Responders & town residents. I was honored to participate in the Color Party and normally held the Alberta or Canada Flag. We went down to the main pier were the Mayor & town council cut a huge cake to celebrate the event with the community, numerous people wanted to have their pictures taken with us holding the Canada Flag.

That was special, unfortunately won't happen not this year.

Well you shouldn't be surprised Zip, we all know that there are certain people on here that are not wired correct, they only have a negative wire and no ground wire, anyway being someone that has lived and worked in 17 different countries around the world I can tell you that Canada is really a pretty darn good country in spite of our libtard leader, no country is without it's problems.

Happy Canada day to all

Lol you have it so wrong. It isn’t “in spite of our libtard leader” as you put it. It’s in spite of the type of people that now live in this country that will continue to vote him in. It’s about what this country has become and what we allow here. Think about it....

Canadian political history indicates it is just a matter of time before the Liberals are sent to the woodshed so no reason to panic. My loyalty is to Canada, not a particular political party or its leader. I do look forward to PM Makay walking back some of the the more egregious acts bestowed upon us but I am not under the illusion that we will ever return to the good old days ...during which there was also no shortage of whining.

Never a shortage of malcontent among humans...always those that want it “their way” ... and once that happens, it frequently spawns further discontent in a sub group. Years ago a local church group split to establish their own congregation, which after a few years in the honeymoon mode, suffered a further schism. Who’d have guessed there was malcontent within the malcontents.

I think Canadas biggest problem is we have lots of politicians but no leaders

As far as beauty, resources, healthcare and safety we are pretty hard to beat. But it is eroding. And it will turn this country into something we dont recognize or like.

Citizens are apathetic for the most part. We bend too much. We fail to realize our collective strength.

We need leaders. We already have a mitt full of politicians and lawyers. Im betting there are 10 gals or guys on this forum alone who would do a great job at leading this country.

I think a lot of politicians are securely in the pockets of others though. Thats a hard nut to crack.

Im betting Trudeau calls an election this year. The conservatives are weak, people are happy with their handouts, and strategically, it makes sense because the Liberals might wanna get a majority before the next yearly tax season when they claw back money from those who took it this year...

Just my lousy prediction. I hope Im wrong.

I agree with everything you said. With a big emphasis on the Conservatives being weak. They are a non factor unfortunately....

While there are big issues facing this country, far more than political issues -

it's time to remember - this small country fought two world wars and recovered,
this country had a Prime Minister who talked with his dead Mother and we recovered,
we had staggering debt and recovered once, only to be headed that way again,
we have a long list of injustices to be unhappy about, but we also have a general well being for citizens that is the envy of much of the world.

There is a reason that a Doctor or other professional from Syria, Lebanon or Iran will drive taxi in Saskatoon - to give their children a future away from the horrors of war.

If you don't like the politics of the day, get active and do the Canadian thing, throw the buggers out of office. If you can't win at the polls, you haven't convinced enough people of the correctness of your party's path.
Vilifying your opponent in politics doesn't bolster your point of view.

Messy and imperfect as our Canadian democracy is, I have been around the world, and have seen how good we have it.

Happy Canada Day.

A "menagerie of yuck"? here's the thing - if you're going to describe immigrant cultures like this then you're pretty much going to hating on everybody and there's going to be NO country you'll be happy living in...

So then why don't you tell us - what exactly do "new" Canadians get that veterans do not?

While you're at it, please do describe this "identity" that we seem to be losing? You mean like fair-mindedness? Respect for others? Loving your country?

Trudeau has left 372 million dollars meant for our veterans unspent since taking office. Just recently he has announced a pledge of 300 million to other countries to help with Covid. Our priorities are a sham....

I can go on and on but I don’t feel I need to explain my self to you....
This country isn’t what it used to be. As long as we continues to open the flood gates here in Canada, the Trudeau mindset will keep being voted in.

I’m going to leave it at that and not engage in a debate.

Happy Canada Day to all...

Just because Canada is still better to live in than many other other countries, doesn't mean that it couldn't be a lot better, and that things won't get a lot worse before Trudeau is done. Every year our standard of living is falling, and we get closer to the cesspool countries that most refugees are fleeing from. I don't see that as a reason to celebrate, and I consider myself an Albertan, before a Canadian.
And as for the so called Canadians that are telling people that aren't happy with the way Canada is headed to leave, those people that have issues with the way our country is headed, have paid their taxes, and have just as much right to live here as anyone else. Perhaps the people that are not happy with what Canada has become, are the true patriots?

A true patriot doesn't sit by and say nothing while his country is being destroyed. As for the border, other than at designated order crossings, the federal border is just as invisible.

Its like a new car

All is good. Then it wears. You replace with best parts

As time goes on you start living with scratches and dents. And maybe the tires will last another year....the windshield is cracked but you live with it

Its good enough

Then one rainy day it calves on you and you have nothing.

Its called upkeep and upgrading

We are driving a winter beater. And the mechanics just wash it
